Norohasina's journey

I am currently a worship leader with Alpha and Omega Christian International Ministries here in the UK. I began at the age of eight, through the encouragement of my father, to learn musical theory and classical piano at Le Conservatoire de Cachan in Paris. In my penultimate grading examination, I was placed top of my year group, which so pleased my father, he carried me on his shoulders from the examination hall! My favourite composer for the piano is Debussy. Over the years I have gained a wide range of experience as a worship leader, worship pastor and songwriter.

I was born in Madagascar and moved to France in my early childhood. I grew up in the Malagasy Protestant church in Paris and was a member of the choir there. One of my brothers is now a deacon in the church. I was born again, however, when I was studying at university in California in my early twenties. Once I completed my studies there, I returned to France and then moved to England to train to teach French. This is where I met Peter and we were married in August 1998 on the hottest day of that year! I work part-time as a French teacher and as a French tutor. I also work as a freelance translator and interpreter. Apart from music, my great love as you can imagine is for languages, and at the moment I am adding German to the languages I can speak!

My top priority at the moment is raising our young son, Joel, who enjoys falling asleep to the sound of Mozart!
